DUE TO INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS NO HORSES ARE TO BE ON
THE GROUNDS UNLESS THEY ARE ENTERED IN AN EVENT.

0419 430920. Scratching prior to the closing date will receive a full refund. If the event is cancelled all monies will be refunded., Scratchings after the closing date require a doctor or vet certificate no later than 24hrs after the event to be entitled to a refund. After entries have closed horses nominated may not be changed for any reason. Riders may be changed up until the time the horse competes in its first competition.
BRIDLE NUMBERS: Please note all official horses/ponies must display a bridle number on both sides of the Bridle or Saddle Cloth EANSW will issue a Bridle No for EA Members. Bridle Numbers can be purchased from most saddleries at minimal cost or from the EA.
RESTRICTIONS: Horses may compete at 2 consecutive levels only over the event (maximum 3 competitions per horse per day) Riders may ride a maximum 3 horses per day, 6 tests per day and maximum 2 horses per competition.
ACCEPTANCE: You MUST be a member of the EA or HVD to be eligible to compete at an event. All details on the entry form MUST be completed. All monies MUST accompany your entry form (if an entry form is received without a cheque or money order, the entry will be returned to the sender. A signed waiver form must accompany your entry form (if you are entering a number of people on your entry form each rider much sign an individual waiver form. Entry forms are entered on the computer in order of receipt and if a test is oversubscribed a reserve list is formed. It is part of the conditions of entry that you may be required to assist in the running of the day by pencilling etc. If you do not fullfil your allocated job for this event you will not be eligible to gain points towards HVDA annual awards.
JACK POT PRELIMINARY CLASSES 2012: This year HVDA will be running jackpot preliminary classes. These classes will be run at each competiton during 2012. The horse with the highes number of points at the end of the year will win the jackpot. Jackpot prize money will be awarded at our end of year presentation to 3rd place however if entries warrant prizemoney will be awarded to 6th place. To be eligible your horse must not have completed at Elementary level or above, Entry to these classes will be $25, Ponies and Junior competitors may enter howevever will be judged as open competitors, ponies and juniors may still compete as pony or junior in their other respective classes but may NOT compete as open competitors in any other event.
QUALIFICATIONS: In Official Open Tests, horses must exceed 149cm with shoes or 148cm without shoes, be registered with E.A & have a current Dressage grading Card. Both the rider and the owner of the horse must be a financial members of E.A. Riders must be 12years and over on the day of the event. Children under the age of 9 years are not allowed to compete at HVDA events. Entrants in Junior Competitions must be under the age of 16 years on the day of competition. If the same test is offered in both junior and open categories, juniors may not compete in both.
PONY DRESSAGE: All EA registered ponies may compete in all offical or associate tests but must nominate "PONY" on the entry form. All unofficial ponies may compete in all unofficial tests but must noiminate "PONY" on the entry form. Ponies must not exceed 149cm with shoes and 148cm without shoes. Ponies will be placed separately from the horses in their tests.
JUNIOR ENTRY: Children under the age of 9 yesrs are not allowed to compete at HVDA events. Entrants in Junior Competitions must be under the age of 16 years on the day of competition. Junior competitors cannot compete both junior and open (including pony) on the same day.
STALLIONS: Stallions are welcome to compete, however they must be kept under control by a competent person at all times when either ridden or led. Where possible, stallions should be stabled or housed in a truck/trailer. Stallions tied to a truck or float should be supervised at all times.
PREPARATORY: Horses/ponies that have won at Preparatory level or placed in a higher level test may only compete NC. Competitors who have competed at Elementary level or higher may only compete NC.
NON-COMPETITIVE ENTRIES: will be accepted on the understanding that they may probably be given first or last time slot in the competitions. They must be indicated in writing before the start of the relevant competition.
AWARDS AND PRIZE MONEY: Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place. Best performance awards are presented at each level, where only the two highest-level tests will count. Prize money will be awarded for official tests.
COACHES: are not to give instruction to riders in the area surrounding the arena.
CALLERS: are allowed for all events except F.E.I.
HELMETS: Approved helmet numbers are ASA3838, EN1384, ASTN1164. Helmets must be worn in all warm up arenas.
CANTEEN: will operate on the day.
DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES.
REPORT ANY ACCIDENTS TO THE OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
